Quote of the Day: May 27th, 2006

Aaron: I want to live in a bank.
Matt: Why?
Aaron: It'd be so fun to decorate!

Oh I love that boy.

He should definitely come down to Boulder more often.

FYI I am speaking of my friend Aaron from Ithaca College!

Eddie Izzard

Thanks, Owen for finding this one.

=^D

First, I don't like that much makeup on ANYONE, but Eddie Izzard can pull it off better than most.

Just a Beetle

I'm in the mood for posting a photo, but the problem is, I'm on the downstairs computer, not my laptop, where I have all my photos saved. The only photos I have on this computer are the ones from my trip to Delhi last summer.

I don't think I'll be going back there.
I know I'd be happy if I did, but I also know I won't be unhappy if I don't.
I guess it's all about finally moving on from the past, and... I don't know, entering a new chapter.

Whatever.

Anyway, I still want to post a photo, so here is a beetle, in the backyard.

It's a pretty sweet beetle, if I do say so myself.

Quote of the Day: May 24th, 2006

Standing on your momma's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

-Bryan Adams

Have you ever had a now-or-never moment?

Summer

It seems like everyone I talk to is in the mood to fall in love.

Ah, summer.

Quote of the Day: May 23rd, 2006

Simon Cowell: Why are you here?
Taylor Hicks: I want my voice heard.
Simon Cowell: Why?
Taylor Hicks: I think I got one.

(American Idol)

I haven't watched it for a while, but it's down to the final two so I did.

Quote of the Day: May 22nd, 2006

"What a piece of work is a man! How noble in reason! how infinite in faculties! in form and moving, how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension, how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals! And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?"

-William Shakespeare's Hamlet

Today Ben and I went down to Denver to see the Bodyworlds2 exhibit. It was fascinating, seeing people like that. There's so much in the human body, so many delicate structures, that it is really amazing that it works as well as it does so often. I don't know that it changed my life or made me vow to live a better lifestyle, but it helps to know what's going on in there.

Anyway, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science has some pretty cool stuff... I haven't been into the Hall of Life in forever, and it reminds me of when I was younger and more easily entertained. They've got a pseudo-new space exhibit with lots of interactive stuff including water and dirt to play in and a remote controlled rocket to dock.

Very cool.

And the new Denver Art Museum is looking pretty close to done also... I think it's supposed to open in October. I still can't decide if I like it. It's neat, and interesting, but that doesn't mean I like it.

(ps you know this journal rocks because ANYONE can comment. Neat, huh?)

Quote of the Day: May 21st, 2006

I am a beautiful animal!
I am a destroyer of worlds!
I am Harry fucking Potter!

-Brad Neely's Wizard People, Dear Reader

If you have any interest in Harry Potter, listen to this. I have yet to listen to it with the movie, but it hardly matters since i've seen the movie so many times that I can imagine it.

Quote of the Day: May 20th, 2006

"Promise me, Pooh, that you won't forget me ever,
because if I thought you would, I wouldn't leave."

-E.E. Milne

I miss the pond, and the field, and the woods. I miss being able to get a friend to come over just by yelling their name. I miss having to walk everywhere, down the hill, to the Commons, to the Farmer's Market, to Wegmans. I miss late-night walks to Cornell with Laura, I miss walking to Dillingham in the rain. I miss giggling in the nook, or playing rented games in the lounge. I miss studying on the field, watching people walk past. I miss the dining hall, spinach salads, garbanzo beans, always seeing someone exciting. I miss el posse, and hot Bobby, and Matt, and Mike and Mike and Mike.

I like to remember it.

Quote of the Day: May 19th, 2006

"I'm looking for a dare-to-be-great situation."

-Lloyd Dobler

I'm Back!

I think I should start writing in this again, since I always used to like to so much. Certain blogs lend themselves to certain seasons, for me, and this is definitely more of a summer one.

Anyway, I am back in Colorado for good, that makes me feel good, but we'll see.

I'm working (not as hard as I should be) to find a job.

Somedays I miss Ithaca.

The Da Vinci Code comes out today!

I really love this picture.

Okay, have a good day. I'll try to make this an interesting blog again. Maybe I'll even write something intelligent in it at some point.
